Founded in 1917, Lions Clubs International is the largest volunteer service organization in the world, with nearly 1.3 million members in 202 countries and geographical areas. There are 48 Lions Clubs in Nevada, with over 1,400 members strong, making a difference in the everyday lives of people in need.
The International Association of Lions Clubs began as the dream of Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. He believed that local business clubs should expand their horizons from purely professional concerns to the betterment of their communities and the world at large.
